Claudia Teal is an award-winning artist who specializes in painting architectural subjects. She started her business in 1992, when painting house portraits as gifts for family and friends evolved into an opportunity to work from home and be with her children. Soon she was exhibiting at craft shows and festivals, and to date, she has drawn and painted approximately 1,600 house portraits.

Claudia works out of her historic home in Hedding, NJ, where her family has farmed for 6 generations. The house is shaded by a giant 200-year old sycamore tree. Her studio is in the section of the house that was formerly a general store, which served the neighborhood by carrying items such as cigarettes sold individually, farm tools, starched shirt collars, cookies, and candy. Now the shelves are stacked with items salvaged from the store, mingled with her and her husband’s own collection of treasures from yesteryear. A vintage red Mobil gas pump out front is yet another reminder of the building’s historical charm.

Claudia’s flair with pen and brush, attention to detail, and passion for preserving the past are a winning combination that keeps her customers coming back time and again.
